The Department of Justice and Correctional Services of the Cree Nation Government is organizing its first Indigenous Peoples’ Justice - Reconciliation and Capacity Building Conference.
In accordance with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action, the Conference seeks to educate, bring awareness to, and orient participants in Indigenous issues and peoples.
Featuring international, national and Cree guest speakers, the conference’s objective is to create a vast dialogue on Indigenous Justice and Corrections between participants from different horizons. The theme reflects the capacity building the Cree Nation Government has done over the last 10 years in this area, in a spirit of reconciliation and collaboration with stakeholders, partners, and governments.
We are pleased to share this event with others who would like to engage in a dialogue on some of the most prominent issues in Indigenous communities in the areas of child welfare, justice, corrections, prevention and governance.
This conference targets stakeholders, front-line services, decision makers and those interested in the vast topic of Indigenous justice and corrections.
